Hello- long time no update! I just got back from Chicago for my 2 year follow up and I’m happy to say my MRIs again showed no new or enhancing lesions! My doctors were very happy with my improvement and progress. I will return to Chicago once a year for the next 3 years- and… Continue reading 2 year follow up!

One year follow up appointment

Just got back from Chicago and everything went amazingly well. Slept thru most of my MRI thanks to half a Benadryl. Appointment with Burt lasted less than 10 minutes and he informed me my MRIs showed no new or enhancing lesions. My EDSS score has also dropped from 3.5 to 2 in the past year.… Continue reading One year follow up appointment

One year!

August 9, 2017August 9, 2017 alexakayblog3 Comments

It’s officially been 365 days. I’ve been doing pretty great- standing for hours at an Ed Sheeran concert and constantly surprising myself with the distances I walk. I still have my hard days, days where I feel weak and tired. I always remind myself how blessed I’ve been and how it’s just a bad day… Continue reading One year!

First follow up!

Leaving Chicago after my first follow up about 7 months post HSCT.  MRI was torture per usual. Dr Burt was out of office so I ended up seeing Dr. Balabanov. He informed me my MRI shows no active disease. One lesion seems to have grown from the MRI I had 4 months prior to transplant,… Continue reading First follow up!

Hello! It’s been 6 months yesterday since my stemmie birthday.  I’ve been doing okay for the most part. I’ve had a few more weak days than normal as of late. Trying to stay positive and remind myself of all the good progress I’ve seen. Having MS for 4 years, it’s hard not to feel a… Continue reading 6 months

Considering tomorrow is my five month birthday, I figured it was time for a blog post. I am all settled back in Reno. I have already visited Vegas once for Christmas. While I was home we visited a zoo and I was able to walk around and visit animals for over 2 hours without break.… Continue reading 5 months

Things are going pretty good! Spent this past weekend with josh and his family at his brothers wedding. It was a great time beginning to end, and Josh looks super handsome in a tux. Even got some pretty serious dancing in with Josh’s dad- something I was very surprised I was able to do at… Continue reading Day +111

I haven’t updated in a month so I figured it’s time! We are getting close to the 3 month mark, my hair is finally starting to come, but it’s very light. I’m still working on leg strength training but my endurance walking continues to improve. I went to a Halloween party last night and was… Continue reading Day +81
